What's on the Turntable

The side are aligned for those old stacked type LP players. You put two records on top of each other, and the turntable drops side 2 after side 1 has played. Then turn the stack around. Many 78's are like this too.

Yep, did some research about this. I then remembered that years ago I had another double album pressed this way. Can't remember the title though.

Look, I like the rain, but man, this weather is getting me down. So, I thought I'd start the weekend early and played Dark Side of the Moon twice. Then thought, what the heck, let's play something to go with the weather. I am losing it, aren't I?

Got a nice early Christmas present this morning, a 1982 RCA Victor (Germany) pressing of one of the best live shows I have heard (others may disagree). Cost only 100 bokke (not even 6 USD). For 43 years old vinyl, the two LPs in the set are in excellent condition with only a minor tick here and there. A decent scrub and suck on the VPI, and a spin through the ultrasonic, and this is going to be a gem.

Along with the John Denver I received on Tuesday, also this one. 1980 OG pressing, MCA. Sounds incredible for such an old record.

Great to see legendary musicians playing together with Pat Metheny.

I do like 80/81 one of Pat Metheny’s better albums. I have a handful of his catalog, but find it sometimes get a bit too “improv/unstructured” for my liking. But this era of the ECM stuff certainly was awesome (compared to some of his newer compositions

OK, Christmas has come around early. I have been searching for this pressing for a long time. CBS Mastersound of Wish You Were Here with the corrected equalisation (HC 43453). Some 43 years old, it sounds awesome right out of the sleeve. Will have it cleaned. Vinyl is NM and sleeve is in an excellent condition considering white sleeves will get dirty over time.
