What's on the Turntable

Great to see the Vinyl resurrection has taken off so well. I fully agree that the quality of a good vinyl LP is difficult to surpass by Digital means.

I wonder if this is still the case with Vinyl today, which I assume is all recorded digitally and perhaps ends up losing that analogue sparkle?

I have no nostalgia for vinyl but glad that it still brings joy to so many.

Indeed. And when we get visitors, and youngsters ooh and aah about my elpees, I take out Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here and show them the posters and postcards. They are blown away. We did not appreciate this enough 50 years ago and took it for granted. I remember seeing a gatefold cover where when you opened it, pictures folded out. I think it was Jethro Tull. Another awesome cover is CSNY's Deja Vu, with the leather-touch gatefold and a photo stuck to it.

Yes, album art was cool. I recall the Frankie Goes To Hollywood double album Welcome To The Pleasuredome being full of interesting material. And some of the KISS albums from the 70's and 80's too.

Making great progress with my Collins KWM-2A
digital frequency display: KWM-2A signals (PTO and HFO) >>>

1602 LCD display. Viola!

It is all coming together.

Also, this week I watched “A Complete Unknown” and I really
enjoyed it, hence more Dylan on my platter tonight.
Do watch it.

Have a great weekend friends.

Bob Dylan – The Bootleg Series Volumes 1 - 3.
Rare & Unreleased 1961-1991.
Columbia – 468086 1, Columbia – COL 468086 1.
The Bootleg Series (2) – Volumes 1-3.
5 x Vinyl, LP, Album.
Box Set, Europe, 1991.

Bob Dylan is definitely an acquired taste. I enjoy a wide range of music, instrumentals, vocals, pop, certain country (LeAnn Rimes - How did I live without you, sung apparently when she was only 19 years old), jazz... but I have never been able to appreciate Dylan. Yes I know, it's me, because everyone else seems to like him but I immediately fast-forward or change stations when I hear anything performed by him.

Or maybe all my equipment is at fault and distorting his dulcet voice? 🥴

Yes, was crossing over to the dark side of the moon. Post that I also listened to Wish You Were Here. Was a very Floydy evening! (as evenings should regularly be)
