But now it is time to feed the dogs, pour a glass of good
red wine, and put this evergreen album on my platter.
I just never get tired of this one!

Herbie Mann – The Wailing Dervishes.
World Record – SLW-1701.
Vinyl, LP, Album, Unofficial Release, Mono.
Taiwan, March 1969.
“One of Herbie Mann’s more esoteric excursions, The Wailing Dervishes chases after a fusion that is extremely rare even today - jazz and the Middle East. Believe it or not, it works — and there are no commercial or ethnic compromises. Mann does not alter his familiar flute improvisational manner one whit… Recorded live, this LP is definitely worth hunting for if you want to hear something really different.” - R.Ginell.

This arrived two days ago. For a record that must be about 43 years old, the cover is absolutely perfect, as if it was bought yesterday. The LP itself is in a great condition, needing only a scrub and suck, and a spin on the ultrasonic to be graded NM. Had a copy of this album back in the early eighties. They don’t make them like they used to.
