Rules and terms

This page explains the rules and terms that are applied to this Site. If you continue to use this Site, you are acknowledging and accepting these rules and terms.

These rules and terms may be changed at any time without notice. Any such changes do not absolve you in any way of any previous transgressions.

The rules and terms are broken down into various sections which reads as follows:

Provider intellectual property - All discussions, works and decisions of the Provider remains strictly confidential and will only be made available on legal grounds to any Member or third party.

Provider decisions - Any decision by the Provider pertaining to the Site and/or any Author and/or Member is final and binding ad infinitum.

Prohibited works - The Provider explicitly do not allow you to author any work that contain any material, text or graphic which is or contains:

• intentionally false
• defamatory
• abusive
• vulgar
• hateful or hate speech
• harassing
• trolling
• personal attacking
• intended to cause or be the cause of friction between members
• insulting to any other forum member
• obscene
• profane
• sexually orientated
• threatening
• invasion of any person's privacy
• sharing of any personal information
• adult material
• based on racism
• political ideology
• religious ideology
• the discussion, insinuation, trading, or dealing in anything illegal
• reference to piracy, pirated goods, blacklisted hardware, any and all items or software that might be questionable in nature
• any form of fund raising
• in violation of South African or International law

Indemnification - You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Provider and any other Sites related to this Site.

Prohibited action - The Provider explicitly do not allow you to:

• contact any member without their consent or permission;
• use personal details obtained from this site to threaten or intimidate any member in any way outside this Site.

Member identity - The Provider reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this Service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by you or your use of this Site.

Challenging works - The Provider explicitly do not allow you to:

• author any work challenging the rules and terms of this Site.
• author work rallying support from other members to challenge the rules and terms of this Site.
• copy content from this Site and share such in other media with the intention of challenging the rules and terms of this Site.
• post content from other media here, with the intention of challenging the rules and terms of this Site.

Removal of works - The Provider reserves all rights to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason whatsoever.

Type of membership - You join and use the resources of this Site at no cost to yourself. By joining as a member, you agree to voluntary contribute to the content of this Site.

Age of membership - You must be older than 16 years to register and be accepted as a member. If you are under the age of 18, then the Provider assumes that you have received the required permissions from your parent/guardian to become a member of this Site.

Anonymous accounts - This Site was not created for anonymous people therefore anonymous accounts are not welcome. This is a community of friends. If you are not prepared to accept this please do not register as a member. The Provider may remove your account should it be determined that your profile contains false information.

Multiple accounts - Multiple member accounts for whatever reason, are not allowed. The Provider will remove your additional accounts should it be determined that you have more than one account.

Disciplinary measures - Violations of the rules and terms of this Site will be reviewed by the Provider. In the event of a violation, members may receive a warning or face appropriate sanctions, such as temporary suspension or permanent banning. The decision taken by the Provider shall be final and binding.

Legal responsibility - You remain legally responsible ad infinitum for the work you authored on this Site.

Intellectual Property Rights - By authoring any work on this Site, you grant the Provider a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, modify, and display your work. You retain all ownership rights to your work. The Provider will not claim ownership of your work. You agree that your work will be retained on this Site and cannot be removed, even if requested so by you as the data structure and thread sequencing integrity will be compromised.

Editing of works - The editing by you of any of your work to remove contributed content will be seen as a malicious act to purposely break the flow of conversation and will not be tolerated.

Prohibited work types - The Provider explicitly do not allow you to author any work that are of the following type:

• spam
• flooding
• advertising of commercial products and/or business
• chain letters
• pyramid schemes
• solicitations

Copyrighted works - The Provider explicitly do not allow you to author any work that is copyrighted unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material.

Licensed works - The Provider explicitly do not allow you to author any work that is licensed unless you own the license or you have written consent from the owner of the licensed material.

Member signatures - Member signatures shall not be used for advertising of any kind. Any link to commercial entities will be seen as advertising.

Avatar - The maximum file size of avatar images is 20 kB with a maximum resolution of 80 x 80 pixels. Neither of these constraints may be breached. An avatar image may not display any link nor any item as listed above under "Prohibited works".
