Classifieds

This page explains the rules and terms that are applied to the Classifieds section of the Site.

Commercial advertising - Commercial advertising and commercial classifieds shall not be allowed.

Template - The official template shall be used for all advertisements placed on this Site, whether for buying or selling. The current template reads as follows:

• Item: Detailed and accurate description of the article.
• Pictures: Provide a minimum of three pictures e.g. front, top and back.
• Age: State the age of the article.
• Price: State the selling amount in ZAR.
• Payment method accepted: EFT, GEO, Apple Pay etc
• Warranty: State warranty if still applicable.
• Warranty holder: State who is the current warranty holder (if applicable).
• Packaging: State if you can provide the original packaging or not.
• Condition: Try and use industry terms for the condition such as VG, rusted etc.
• Location: State the location in South Africa.
• Reason: State the reason why you are selling.
• Shipping: State if you can ship via courier or other.
• Collection: State if the buyer can collect or arrange collection by a courier.
• Link: If available provide a URL to a similar item

Any listing not using the template may be removed at the discretion of the Provider. Please use the template so that we can all enjoy a well managed Classifieds section.

Price - The sellers may ask any price he chooses, even if ridiculous. If the seller wishes to sell a LP for R 2,000,000 he may do so. The Provider explicitly do not allow you to comment on the price indicated.

Interference - There is to be no negative interference in the seller's thread. This could be interference towards either buyers or sellers. If a post can be construed as deconstructive, even if it wasn't meant as such, then the Provider will act on it. If you want to comment use the private message (PM) service.

Negotiation - Any price negotiation and/or discussion is to be kept strictly to the private message (PM) service. You are prohibited from doing such in the thread.

Links - The seller may provide hyperlinks to any online store he wishes on condition that this store only sells directly to the public.

Non-consumer prices - Any distributor or supplier or dealer prices shall not be shared on the Site under any circumstances.

Third party sales - Sales on behalf of a third party are not allowed. Rather request the third party to join the Site.

Auctions - Auctions of any form are strictly forbidden. The Provider explicitly do not allow you to ask for offers in the thread or via the private messaging service.

Piracy - Piracy related items are strictly forbidden. Refer to the above section "Prohibited works".

Cellular phones - Cellphone sales are not permitted unless the phone is more than two years old. In addition the seller must provide clear confirmation that the phone is out of contract with any Service Provider.

Spamming - Spamming classifieds threads are strictly forbidden. Refer to the above section "Prohibited works".

Duplicate threads - Duplicate threads are strictly forbidden. If you want to move a thread, ask the Provider for assistance.

Bumping - You may only bump up your thread once every three (3) days. The only exception is threads of people looking for employment. The Provider will allow daily bumps on these threads.

Price reduction - You may reduce your sales price once every 24 hours. The price reduction shall be more than 5% of the current sale price. The Provider explicitly do not allow you to reduce the sales price by less than 5% of the current sales price.

Thread updates - You may update your thread with relevant information as often as you like, as long as the information is relevant to the item or sale. Posting one image every hour will be seen as trying to circumvent the rules above.
