This was one of my favourite threads in the old country, so let's start it up here.

This song, "Reisiger" was written by Refentse Morake. Those that love Afrikaans music will surely know the name.
Now Refentse is very good musician, but his song is here done by Gabi Swanepoel during the second season of the Afrikaans talent competition "Die Kontrak" and it is an absolutely amazing cover version.

When she hits those high notes in the chorus.....it is magic.

The Norfolk Chamber Music Festival has just concluded at Yale University. This year there were many famous jazz musicians playing with the orchestra. It is a chamber concert, so string quartets are much in evidence

A superb audio recording as well

 
Undecided on this one.

A classic tune. They are easy on the eye. Gives country music vibes, but slowly builds into something worthwhile. YMMV.

Agree... She has a magical voice.
 


This had some potential if it was executed a bit better...
That said. I expected crap, and got some potential. I do not hate it. It can be more though

Love this song by them. 1st song I did in front of other folks eons ago. (my slower version of the animals) Back then ('99) I dreamed of doing something like this with the song. Back then I had 3 - 4 hours a day to practice music, voice, guiter etc...
Now I have -8 hours only dealing with work.
